Hi im doing a 133 conversion on my 1.2 twingo have the engine and gearbox but need some more parts

Both driveshafts
Engine loom
Ecu with key
Starter motor
Alternater

And maby some more will find out when i go to fit it lol

Thanks and yeh i will just want to try get all the parts before i start stripping my car down and be with out a car :(

Interesting...

Would it not just be cheaper to chop in the 1.2 and buy a 133? In terms of the build itself and then insuring it etc

Cant really aford the insurance on a 133 atm and as i will be doing the work my self with help from my dad lol shouldnt be too bad

Not straight away will eventully but if i keep it regesterd as a 1.2 it has the benifits of cheaper tax and insurance and as im not getting payed that much atm it helps a bit but i will tell them when im getting a bit more money and can afford it :)

But your insurance will be void.

Tut tut, not something you should be broadcasting ;).

IMO ditch the conversion keep the 1.2 and save up the money for a 133 that way it might not cost you your license plus insurance would be void if you didn't inform them about the engine swop so pretty much uninsured!

I couldn't afford the full fat 133 cup but I saved up enough for a GT and its still immensely fun to drive ;)

Supose but my insurance runs out in april so will regester it as a 1.6 on the insurance then :)

You don't need to wait for insurance to run out just give the company you're with a call and then you just pay the extra amount

Can you? Ill try call tomorrow and see how much it is to change and if its not to bad will do it :) thanks

Yeah I had to call up to change mine when I picked my twingo up and was already 4 months into it, just call them and explain it all to them and then they should tell you the cost differences.

Glad to help :)

I'm not getting into the insurance side, as the points are made above.

The main gain of the RS133 is the chassis which would add significant costs to the conversion.
Add on an exhaust manifold and system, intake airbox
Your probably going to have to alter length of the drive shafts as the RS has a 40mm wider track than the 1.2s and maybe different hub splines

A standard RS133 would probably be cheaper and much easier to insure than a 1.2 converted to a 1.6. Factor in 50% of the insurance companies not touching modified cars or giving a hefty loading for it but only finding out after spending 40 minutes on the phone first :(

Glad you came too your senses about the insurance from the in house 5-0 lol!

It's a nice idea a conversion but to be honest a 2nd hand would be cheaper

Mines cheap enough ;) as your a member on here I'm sure we could work out an even better price for it :) pm me if u wanna talk numbers

Fair play for wanting to give it a crack though. U will be the 1st to try a conversion outside of the demo stuff
