bic. Turn it the other way up, as you must have it upside down.

Although seriously, the min torque is no lower than the standard result, just a bit higher up the revs and wider. I'm sure that could be improved on, as my original remap found something like an extra 40% over standard at 2000 rpm... My original graph is in my dini thread.

Actually yeah, I just looked at the slump below stock at a smidge above 3krpm, didn't notice the standard graph doing the same a few hundred rpm earlier. On Facebook they say it's actually drinking less fuel despite the gains which is impressive.

The list of mods doesn't include breathing - sticking something like a big BMC CDA on there would presumably allow for more tinkering.

And above that it's a big "wow!" obviously; if I weren't focussing my ideas around mid-range torque (daft I know) I'd have thought to say it earlier.

from the post on the catcam page, that may have been with one of their clio172 filters chucked on. Hence the mention of short pipe as it probably wouldn't fit behind the headlight

This power increase has matched the power to weight ratio of a Clio 200. They should be very similar speeds when finished. Love to hear what it sounds like :)

However like to ask why the engine can't make more power to the redline and not drop off. I hoped with the exhaust restrictions improved and new cams it may have been possible. I wonder what the limiting factor is? Super cool stuff though!

this profile was realy an educated guess on what would be a safe fast road profile, as they had my head but not the block with pistons to actualy check interference points. I wanted good mid range torque over top end power, so masive lift and loads of overlap would have been counter productive. I guess once Catcams and K-tec have had a propper measure up with these fitted, harder profiles may well appear.

Mine should be on the dyno this afternoon and I've requested they work on the lower and mid range if possible.

Doh, I just filed short pipe under exhaust!

Far too exciting!

I know! I'm soo tempted, it would be cheaper to do this than trade up to summin and I enjoy the 133 so temptation

If carrie wasn't on the forum I might of been able to get away with spending all my funds on this.

As she is, I would be killed

Neil have you got a price for cams and the work done? or is there anything on any of the sites...? K-tec/RS Tuning?

Brother in laws like that, soon as he's back off tour he said he is booking his type R in to fit his toda decat mani and new ECU and remap it and his lower ARB all in one go at the same place

He also lives on base but up in Leaming lol.

+1
I hope your sitting down, but I have conveniently blanked the prices from my mind.

Head cost, but that or at least some of it may be recouped if/when I sell my original on

Cylinder head work:- Machining and porting of inlets, porting exhausts, unshroud valves and work chambers, recut valve seats, reface head gasket face, new guides and stem seals.

Cams:- prices still to be confirmed, but around the same as 197/200 cams.

Exhaust:- Full K-tec manifold and exhaust with sports cat option. 5 hours labour to fit it.

Manifolds:- About 5 hours work with files, a dremmel and sand paper to open out the lower manifold to match the head

Swap out parts from Karl:- Dephaser kit, water pump, cam belt and tensioner kit, aux belt kit, head bolts, rocker cover bolts (probably not essential) all gaskets and plug seals for head and cam swap.

Head swap out, cam fit and remapping:-Day and a half labour, plus 1/2 day mapping and contingency of another day for mapping road test etc

Petrol for 600 mile trip down:- 2.25 tanks

Hotel:- 3 nights

Petrol for return trip:- hopefully only one tank, as it looks to be using less fuel

Yes I'm slightly barking :?

I guessed the price tag would be 3000 €

I was thinking though.. which would be faster, a 163 bhp fullfat Twingo RS or the stripped out cup version from yotah?

Can you imagine combining both?

Seeing as 402 cams fitted with new belt kit and water pump changed is £1500ish from rs tuning on a 197 (ktec charge 1300 without the water pump).. This is going to cost a pretty penny.

Both if yotah is behind the wheel :)
