Im looking at a car on autotrader... (swift sport), i put the car reg into confused.com to get an insurance quote on it.. and it came up as a renault megane

Should i avoid this like the plague?

Are the mpg figures for a swift sport not much different to those for the 133?!

To be honest Rob if you get a swift your down grading.

Reason:-

1.Ugly
2. Ugly
3. Ugly

Thats only what i think to it. Looks nothing on a 133.

Is it fuel and that you can get a nice looking car that could be a 1.2 16v

seem better than the 133 from what ive been reading.

What car, parkers and the like say "the 1.6 sport gets 39.8mpg, but if you intend to enjoy the car's performance you'll struggle to achieve that"

Swift sport is a very ugly car, less performance/handling and the fuel mpg is about the same as the twingo in the real world.

Guys, all im gunna be doing is driving up and down the motorway most days (93 mile round trip) ...not that fussed about handling.

They're on a par with the 133, not a downgrade I would say. Can't believe how narrow minded some forums get when it comes to other marques

u are right rob u should avoid this like the plague but not because of the reg issue but simply because it is a suzuki swift :p :p :p :p

what are you thinking??

Im thinking i need to save money and im just gunna be going up and down the motorway (90 miles a day some times)

Any help is appreciated guys!

need cheapish insurance
good car
youngish
nice
good features

so really u need a small diesel that is made in germany

So you'll be doing roughly 20k a year (give or take a bit)

It not worth considering a diesel? If it were me I might consider a rs megane (dci) 175, fabia vrs, or even an octavia vrs (diesel versions available)

My dad's soaked up LOTS of miles in recent years in Saab diesels. Still gets high mpg(~55) out of a very high milage 95 diesel, so you could easily look at the likes of a 93

There's plenty of great motorway cruiser cars around if that's what you're after (Audi, Saab, BMW, Volvo, merc etc...)

If you were after something flashy and your budget would stretch my folks have a tt convertible with a diesel engine that's immense, so something like that would give you style too. Then again, there's lots of convertibles around that can give you a half decent mpg

i dont like vw's but id prob b looking at a golf diesel if i was u.

they are pretty boring but u can get a good spec with a fair amount of toys ,cheap to run and suck up the miles.
the 2.0 diesel sport is prob the one u want. ;)

i like the looks of the little seat diesels but havnt driven one so not sure on what they are like.
or dare i say it .... skoda!!!!!!
the octavia's are nice but the smaller fabia are good too and both come in vrs diesel

All you need mate is a cheap 1.2 then you dont need power and you dont need handling mght aswell find a small engine car cheap tax, Insurance and running costs
