Three cars on finance, kept each one for a year, didn't pay any penalty for getting rid early, and used the equity in the previous to pay deposit on the next one. Two years of driving, three brand new cars. Think how much fun you can have changing it every few years ;-)
Find yourself a decent dealer like I did, get them some more business with family and then take advantage ;-) my family and friends have bought nearly 10 cars in four years from our dealer ;-)

Agree 100% :D

But you're forever paying interest...? Regardless of monthly outlay, you always owe someone money for nothing that way. Unless you've been getting 0% finance deals of course?

Seems a complete waste to me, if you can afford a car outright, or have one already, it's stupid to get into debt

Don't c no problem with finance at all as long as you pay it off, new car every 3 years if you want and also if there are major problems with the car while on finance you have a lot more control over getting it sorted out; if the cars a little out of your range it's brilliant, I'd say a good 80% of people could no way afford a new car straight out with cash purchases, also u ask most people with new cars and there on finance

To be honest most cars will give you a good mpg if you have a light right foot.

To give you an example, most people don't see above 24mpg in an RS Megane yet mine managed an average over just over 30mpg on the way back from Karl's dealership the other day. That was a mix of B road driving then onto the motorway.

The same goes for the 133, my Mrs gets 50mpg out of hers when she goes to see her family down in Bristol. If all you'll be doing is sitting at a steady speed, a reasonable sized petrol engine should give decent economy.

What one has your mrs got might have seen her around as I am from there :).

Totally agree any car can be fuel efficiant with the right driving style and the roads, my mum and dad have got 37mpg out of the RS 250 megane on motorway driving!

That says a lot as I know how hard it is with a turbo engine to get a decent mpg return. Although of course on the Megane, having a 6th gear helps on a long run.

I remember trying my absolute best in my old Clio 172 on a commute home from work. Bearing in mind it was through two small towns and across B-roads. Properly light foot, changing gear low in the revs and managed 42mpg!

Aah she actually lives across the country in Surrey but her family are from down there so she's not there that often. Then again on the off chance you see a Glacier White with black and white bits and a panoramic roof, that'll be hers! lol
