Haha I think it's just the front diffuser that makes them look so good!
I'd buy that even without the lights jsut some silver strip, that is effin lovely

I know wot you mean about the front diffuser looks great!

not good for me thou, i`ll have the car stuck on it in no time down the country lanes i have drive down.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if they are spliced into the sidelights then they will only operate when the sidelights are on? The +ve current to the sidelights is only made when they are switched on and the circuit is complete. The only part of the car permanently wired +ve is from the ignition coil to the starter/alternator. -ve is always "live", but then the whole car is -ve earthed.

I would've thought you need to wire DRL to the ignition. That way they are never connected with the ignition turned off and always connected and turned on when the ignition is irregardless of whether lights are on and off. And even then they won't be "proper" DLRs. For this you'd need a relay and/or circuit to control them; turning them on at ignition and turning them off when main lights are on. And if you wanted to go the extra mile like Audi, dimming them when you make turn signals (indicators).

Wire them to the Back of the ciggy ? that's switched with the ignition

Could do; I wrote that and posted and was trying to remember if that and the radio were still powered with the keys out but as I've never used either like that I couldn't say!

If you do go down that route (although again, they'd be on all the time), then without a doubt put and inline fuse between the +ve and the lights. Just to be safe.

Alex_225 even tho your not a fan thanks for your input, foglight housing seems to be the best place, i currently had a little 3d imagery being processed, hopefully shall get it online for tomorrow

I could be converted though as the couple of images I've seen since I posted do actually look quite good.

That said, I like the idea of turning them on and off. I use my sidelights quite frequently on dull days so an optional driving light appeals, just not one that stays on all the time!

The only concern I'd have regarding those ones fitted in the grille above is whether our Police would look at them and do you for having fog lights on. :(

Ok so the final dimensions are getting taken from the car and I'll post the close up pics when a plastic finished version is created, as close up looks **** (cardboard and tape)

Police wise my memory of this law is shady, but there is on one of the bulbs a marking that denotes a foglight bulb and likewise a DRL. For all those that worry about this it's why I'm not inclined to go for a foglight replacement, or round DRL.

The lights I'm looking at Wire in to the sidelights from memory (as don't have wiring diagram to hand) but if you've got some knowledge I don't see why you can't splice a switch in there to make them able to be on or off.

For full legality the lights will need to have an E-marking.......

Hi guys,that's how I puted mine on^^ think it's original :)

I like that ^^ but i would like to see the fitting to see if its tacky when just seen properly

I'll try to take a pic,but in the day you don't really see them,it's more for show at night onfortunately =/ But I think it still looks good like this^^

I had to left the bumper to put the lights on the top of the lights^^

All new cars from 2011 have to be made with DRL.

I'd disable them immediately.

They are totally unnecessary - a car is 6 foot wide, 12 foot long and goes "broom, broom" - don't need bl**dy lights on all the time to tell you it's there

Nothing looks worse than some cretin pottering round in full "Look at Me" mode

 Brilliant

Well said! Overtook a car yesterday in broad daylight that had sides and fogs on, he was SO cool

I'm sure that the reason they are putting them into new cars is because of laws changing etc, so if you were to disable them I think that someone would have something to say about it!
