I wonder if there would be an issue getting different rear springs instead of the weitec ones.
That depends on the lengths of the damper ;)

If you go with a spring which is shorter when under no load, theres a posibility that when the axle goes to full droop with no load on it the spring will fall out of the spring seats.

If the spring allows the body to go lower, you could end up bottoming out against the bump stop which will cause a large difference in the effective spring rate as the stop loads up/un-loads (interesting mid corner!!!). Also, the damper piston could be taking a hammering against the bottom of the damper tube.

The BC damper length is adjustable ;)

I'm not selling the Weitecs to buy BCs Neil! too much hassle
I wasn't suggesting you should, just stating mentioning that they have adjustable length ;)

So, which bit have you broken/popped?

The inner cv boot as split and sent grease everywhere :) hopefully I haven't damaged my driveshaft cus I popped it back in and the car drive fine, didn't want to put any power through it though so I was just crawling home, got the girlfriends yaris for the weekend till I can get a new cv boot.

They're abit more compressed now as they've settled properly

I'll upload how they are now tomorrow when its light, I wonder if there would be an issue getting different rear springs instead of the weitec ones.
It's the same like on my car, so I guess it kinda looks normal.

callum, did you order an entire new driveshaft? if it was only the boot that was damaged, you'd have been a lot cheaper to just replace the boot by the sounds of it

I wonder if this was this actually caused when you crashed and broke the gearbox mount the other month? Just popping out recently???

I'm unsure Neil, I think it's just the fact that I have gone so low and haven't had any angles checked, that it put too much movement on the shaft so it was not as far in the gearbox as it should have been. But your right the crash could possibly have weakened the area or moved something that I hadn't noticed.

And I order the whole shaft because it's the joint and the boot that has gone, the whole shaft only worked out about £20 more so It's just less hassle with a straight swap rather than dismantling the old shaft
