Spent my whole Saturday (well 6.5 hours of it) fitting my FMIC :D

Bumper Removed..

Intercooler unwrapped and ready

Now I had to sort the inwards and outwards tubing to make sure it was going to fit!

Bottom (had a silicone reducer that fitted perfectly)

Top (Decided to use the OEM pipe and stretch/clamp it over the alu pipe.

Now was to decide where to route the pipes. Didn't have much choice with the piping supplied so had to take this route which worked out OK in the end (with some bumper modification and extra silicone hoses I had purchased)

Bumper back on..

And here are some extra ones for the sake of it (Lowered 40mm with 25mm Spacers on each corner)

Next on the list pal. Do I need to change the exhaust beforehand too ?

Not if you dont want to but a well built full cat back system would help on a remap, i've been asking around for remaps near to me and from what ive been told from other GT owners is that 130bhp if you reach that on a map is just safe for the clutch and any higher the injectors will be maxxing out.

Not sure if its been done yet but clio 172/182 injectors fit and one member was going to put them in as its a 40cc increase i think.

LOVING the fmic though ;) i'm too scared i'll break my car fitting one with no knowledge and the costs of someone else fitting one so unfortunately no FMIC for me when i remap

EDIT: what spacers do you have? also when you lowered the car did you get the geometry checked, if not i reccomend getting it set up as it makes such a big difference ;)

Probably be getting the remap done 1st Saturday in April after payday haha. I think the injectors will help push it a bit more but I'm not sure if the Clutch will die..

The 172 injectors may not give any extra power if the originals can actualy deliver enough fuel...

However even if they could be used, the originals would be would be working much nearer to their maximum so any degredation in their performance could spell disaster. The 172's will be working at a lower duty cycle and will have capacity in reserve.

In that case surely the 172's are a safer bet?
could be. I'm not sure what flow rate, hence power the standard ones can support. If your tunning for maximum power, you could end up with the standard injectors running flat out whilst on the dyno... Get a particularly cold day in the future with dencer air which needs more fuel and you cant flow anymore something will melt. Beware of mapping to supper fuel if you can't rely on getting it ;)

Likewise, theres no need to get injectors from a supercar as trying to gradualy open becomes a problem which makes fine tweeking the map harder. Have a good read up on injector duty cycle and flow rate

Give Steve-o a message has he's whacking out about 140bhp from his GT. I believe he's running 172/182 injectors in his GT

Steve-o did recommend getting the 172/182 injectors so they don't max out, and his car still seems to be in 1 piece... think I'll use his advice lol

Yeah the general advice on the GT with remapping is to change the injectors to be on the safe side, and since you have them anyways it makes it that much easier :)

ETA: I think from memory that the max you want to go is 140BHP (this requires more than the remap alone), any more than that and you will be looking at some serious repair bills lol.

Steve-o is your man, someone else had 131BHP, think it was Cam?

I'll be happy with around 130-135 lol, bound to feel pretty quick with that much power/torque? Any higher is risky like you say

you should definatly get 130 bhp.

I got those results with a remap without even changing anything.

Unfortunatly, no intercooler fits my type of car yet.. or thats what I've been told.
