you should definatly get 130 bhp.

I got those results with a remap without even changing anything.

Unfortunatly, no intercooler fits my type of car yet.. or thats what I've been told.

I'm pretty sure you could get a universal one to fit... just need to have the right tubing available to try with

something I've been wondering lately..

so you installed this intercooler but you wont get the horsepowers unless you remap it or thats just to see how much you gained?

can't imagine you have to remap every car for every upgrade you do, do you?

I have no idea if it has made me gain anything so far, I installed it so I could get more from a remap over having the car standard, and that it looks cool lol.

I always thought the idea of aFMIC is the appearence more than anything? must admit it looks smashing, tempted as a summer's weekend treat to myself :D

180 bhp to 218 bhp.. I think a remap alone would never give that much of an increase

This is the same place were I asked for an intercooler but they work with Forge only.

Definatly, especially the torque increase is something your feel. You get more torque than an RS. When the road is a little moisty the wheels spin all over the place.

It wont be the same car you're used to.

maping is the last step of an engine prep.
It's why you do it if you sure you'v done all what you want or you can afford new remap latter

Probably a bit of a noob question but...can you add the 182 injectors and a fmic and run it on the standard map without causing damage? At least until you can get it mapped? And also is an upgraded fuel pump necessary? I just want to get as much info as I can so i can price stuff up before starting the saving and building!

Yes to FMIC and no to 182 injectors, the fuel pump isn't necessary BUT it's very limiting over 130bhp so it would be safer to do the fuel pump then the main limiting factor would be the stock turbo which runs out of puff when pushed to around 150bhp.

Ok thanks, in relation to what you wrote; at lease the more difficult one to fit (fmic) is safe unmapped.more questions...
1. regarding fuel pump...how much of a ***** is it to change/upgrade and do you have to go to remote from the tank? And again is this safe to use per-mapping?
2. how easy are the injectors to access/fit when the time comes? Or just easier to get the mapping place to put them in once its up on the dyno.
Basically want to do as much of the work at home myself and gradually if I can before getting mapping done. I can physically do the work its just my knowledge of these engines/modifications that let's me down :-( but I guess that's what you're all here to help me with :) ( I hope :p)

Injectors take 10mins, fuel pump I'm not sure but you need to make sure u have a new ring around the fuel pump or will leak fuel...

Injectors are Piss easy. I think you can get to the fuel pump by taking out the back seats, lifting the carpet and there should be a rubber/plastic plug underneath to access the fuel tank.

Hmm...might be worth paying a bit more and getting the pump, injectors an map done at the time by the proper pros!!! Saves me a headache trying to figure the fuel pump placement. So what fuel pump to look into trying to source? I think I'll plan a whole day to do the fmic when it comes round to it...just one thing will it run differently (better/worse/indifferent) with the fmic and the standard map?
