Does noone appreciate the visual differnces between the two models?

TBH the performance difference across country won't really be noticed very often as it's not often you can exploit the cornering capabilities of the 133. I don't like the look of any of the twingos apart from the 133!

I know what your sayin James I found my pix of my gt from entering fcs last year and the car looks **** compared to my 133

Exactly. Doesn't matter if your toyota starlett has 300bhp and is quicker than an R8. I'd rather be in the r8 cos it looks better and is the better overall package. If that makes sense. :p

They're nippy little warm hatches, no denying it. But GT's just don't interest me in the slightest!

The RS does look a lot better and the only reason I got the GT is because it's abit cheaper to insure and was cheaper to buy at the time

exactly, a car can be greater than the sum of its parts. and definatley can be more than what the facts and figures state

You mean have sentimental value? Because I have no clue what you mean in this post

Well as you know my mum has a Gordini TCE and me/Mrs have Twingo 133s.

I think as in the first post, you'd be a little surprised by a TCE. There is a lot of torque lower down although first gear is hard work. It's not slow but pulling away but first just seems to run out of puff really quick certainly quicker than the RS would. It's in gear that the TCE really shines though, you can noticeably feel it come on boost and it gives you a good amount of acceleration. Enough to surprise a few cars out there, including the 133.

Handling wise, again the TCE is surprising. Not as tight into the bends as an RS, with a bit more roll but again, firm enough of a ride to make for a really good handling little car.

I personally don't think a 133 would wipe the floor with a TCE Twingo as you have to work the 133 quite hard to get it's full performance. You'd have to geep that 133 1.6 engine on the boil where as the 1.2 turbo engine would be a little more forgiving.

no. I mean how it drives, delivers power, suites the driver etc

The 133 doesn't have a massive amount of power and isn't massively light. But is able to keep up with far more powerful cars as soon as its shown a corner. This isn't reflected in the figures. Similar can be said for the GT I presume, on paper a 100bhp on a good day isn't much but with a good chassis, decent amount of torque and someone that knows what they are doing, I bet they can give a far few more powerful cars a run for their money.

I got what you meant, basically on paper the TCE doesn't sound that impressive but put all the facts and figures together and it's actually very impressive in the real world.

Good thing with the TCE is that it'll do 50mpg most of the time, insurance is cheap and the tax is cheap too.

I'd love to have a go in a tuned one though, 120bhp, set of coilovers, rear seats removed would make it a bit of a weapon.

Been reading on this topic and ever since I re-mapped my Wind I wondered how much in figures it would have improved.

It uses the Clio RS Mk II chassis but with the TCe engine (now to 127 bhp and 190 torque) and sometimes really wonder how it would do against a 1.6 Wind or even a Twingo 133. It probaly has a littel bit more body roll due the little weight increase but with aftermarket Eibach springs that could be fixed.
I keep scavenging youtube to see if someone actually tries this comparison.

To be honest, I'm already impressed that Renault can make a 1.2 engine that gives 100bhp and I I'm not interested in a pissing contest although a friend of mine knows someone that has a Seat Bocanegra with 150 bhp and keeps bragging about that its so much better. I admit I would take that challenge on that Spanish 'black mouth'

Though think of what you could do with the money saved. Over here the Ibiza Bocanegra starts at
£18,655!

True, plus it's got a back seat which I don't want because I keep saying (this comes from TG actually) open the roof and you have 95 billion kilometres of open space to look at :p

i wouldnt mine a little run against a 133 on the way to fcs, if someone fancies it, we could see the difference then ;)
