Mileage Milestone

Can anyone confirm this is the case for the models in the uk? I know there are some things in the manual that simply don't apply to ours. My twingo does take some abuse frequently and the service counter hasn't dropped anymore than it should...

so I had a look into this and I found in my drivers handbook page 1.53 there is a note saying - depending on the vehicle, the mileage before service changes according to the driving style (frequent driving at low speed, door-to-door journeys, extensive use at idle speed, towing a trailer etc.) The distance remaining until the next service can therefore decrease more quickly in some cases than the actual distance travelled.

That's really interesting as I've not heard of this on any other RS Model. Would certainly be interested in finding out if this is function on the UK models.

Also, if that is the case I wonder by what timing/distance it adjusts itself. Like I say, if it someone's service interval suddenly shortened by 6 months when they bought it in part because of the 2 year servicing, they're not gonna be happy! lol

Trust me I've done my homework on storing cars so don't you worry yourself.

Besides I have my cars serviced at least yearly regardless of their driving

Was supposed to get it at 11,111 but passenger was too slow with the camera, this was on the return from FCS!

2 miles too slow . That's either stonkingly slow, or you were going at one hell of a speed through the gap :lol:

haha, no I hads the time on the dash display so I blinked and missed it.

I hit 12,000 in Scotland last week. Miles til service due are getting closer and closer

Definitely doesn't drop quicker, I live in MK an use the car to it's full most days between roundabouts!

As for keeping them garaged, our z1 spends 6 months of the year garaged and only covers about 1000 miles the rest of the time, so far no problems. All we do to the car is put a different set of wheels to stop flat spots and attach it too a trickle battery charger!

My Mrs 133 is heading towards the 9,000 miles mark after 15 months of ownership.

She uses her car daily and visits her family in Bristol but only averages 600 miles a month.
