Hydro is in and had another successful day at Santa Pod DWYB using it :)

Megasquirt ECU has been ordered and will be fitting an AEM Wideband this weekend. After this just need to get some bits custom made and welded and then the turbo can be bolted on with arguably the best management you can get for it.

Here's a handful of features (not forgetting this will run the car entirely too... ignition, fuel, fans, etc etc);
-Electronic boost control (set duty load based on RPM and TPS)
-Launch control
-Flat shifting
-Water/meth injection
-RPM/Shift light control

Why no antilag
Did you fit your Bee*R Rev. limiter?

If my knowledge is right isn't an anti lag system very bad for your turbo its life span ?

Bee*r didn't work in the end but it's no longer required as the megasquirt can e setup to do the same thing (spark cut limiter).

Anti lag is possible with this but it's a bit overkill for what I need it for (as is launch control and flat shift really). It will help towards killing the turbo too, as above.

Doesn't it cause an explosion in the exhaust which should be done in the engine thus putting extreme pressure and heat which causes parts to fail.

Plus the turbo is constantly spinning so normal day to day driving is shocking for instance in a traffic jam it will be stupidly loud and look like your car is kangerooing? Aswell as melting the poor drivers bumper behind you.

It does sound godly though...

However it would be switchable ;)

Yes and yes.

Antilag works by constant explosion in the exhaust manifold and as you say wrecks turbos.
It's for Rally/Hillclimb/Competition cars and Evo/Scooby owners with too much money :p

Megasquirt is in and tuned... Still playing around with things but lets just say a bit of retard on overun has made this car very interesting (pop pop bang flame anyone?)...

Was hoping to get the turbo in this month but still need to sort some bits and bobs out as well as give the car a major service. Off to Pod again next Wednesday so I'll wait until after then and see if I break anything!

Oh and it's now sporting some nice new paint ;)

No bodykit and the crud wheels so please excuse that... A few more visual changes before I can show it off properly. Will be going for a photo session when this is done.

I finally got round to putting all the photos on the laptop :D
The car has the standard bumper and no sideskirts on it looks a bit crappy. Matt had a problem with the steering which fixed itself and managed to bugger the clutch  as usual he had the fun will i stood for most of the day doing the the photogaphy and being pit b*tch.

A role which you do realy well

Looks like some real fun

Latest update for this is that she's now running with the addition of a Garrett T25 turbocharger :)

Absolutely loving it and making the most of it before it breaks haha.

Massive updates for this soon and next year I will be buying another and moving a few bits over due to rusting issues and the fact that a lot of my bodge jobs can't be undone... LOADS of plans next year :)

Quick vid...

The engine in these early MX5's are originally from the 323 turbo. They simply removed the turbo!

I can safely run low PSI with no problems whatsoever but I've already got the bug so there's a good chance of needing new internals and a nice bank manager haha.

In the vid above it was set to 11 PSI which I've since lowered until I can road tune as it's running lean on high boost as you'd expect... The engine can take this pressure providing it doesn't get abused too much.

With the new car next year I will most likely build up a new engine too and aim for 250-300 BHP. Lots of money though!

Need to re-video so we can see whats going on its a bit all over the place. Ive got the Gopro at home if you need it ;)
