Or buy Matt's Twingo RS, bring a visit to Ktec with some stage 2 cams/manifold/the whole shabang and hell, you'll be going faster than your 197 :p

I would but id have to get the clio of doom fixed to sell on.

The work is now commencing.

Renault are paying £150, I'm paying £350 and I should have 'doom' back soon.

Collecting bits and pieces to get leccy problem sorted and then...

64mm throttle body
Rstuner with a map to enjoy the above
KTR induction kit

Sad to hear of you Clio problems Chris. Mine's still plugging along, flatspot at 2500rpm is getting worse tho. I've convinced myself to save for something else, but it seems as fast as I save, the Clio loses it's value, ARRRGH!

So Mike, you gettin a lift in the 'granma-mobile' then? :D

Good news! and nout to do with a little dacia...

RUK are paying £150 towards the bill.....

... and after doing a lot of digging about I have finally got hold of someone at whats left of the Co-op Motor Group. They are writing me a cheque for the £348 to pay for the repair.

Sooo fingers crossed that wrapped this bitch and moan up.

Right, now time for problem 2 as I am hoping to get the car back on Monday....

The Service Manager at Blackpool Arnold Clark has hopefully found the problem (or at least one of them). There is a sensor on/in the gearbox that pulls what rev's the engine is doing, apparently this was reading it intermittently as 0 rpm which can cause the whole "the engines off, please get out" when changing gear at 40mph problem. He is happy to fix this for free so if it does the job the whole fix will of cost me £0.

So fingers crossed thats sorted.

I have got a set of coil packs and plugs to go in next week (£80 new on ebay for both) and am also bunging in a new battery (not paid for yet) So far the car has £920 to go before part ex day comes.

Reading all your problems weebob is turning me off from buying a 197

Fella, mine was cheap, I think most of this could of been avoided with a keener eye than mine.

Sure its spend some time at the garage having stuff sorted but bear in mind the car (minus consumables tax etc) has cost me a grand total of £80 this year.

Make sure its a good one with warranty and you won't regret it ;)

To be fair I don't regret getting mine. Can't wait to have it back

You could also consider, if you want more power you can go for the cam stage 2 upgrade for the Twingo.

See how much both cost (Twingo RS with cams vs. 197), look at the cons and pros.
