Lets not forget Renault started off their hot hatches with a turbo, so a small turbo car isn't departing from tradition. Except the Clio 4 isn't small :p

And that sounds like a horrible interior! I've chosen half black leather and nav, but avoid the JBL speakers as they're costly. So that's all the options basically :p But £29k is too much for an mx-5 rival really. It should be a few grand cheaper, and the Yen should be coming around for that to happen. Still a lot though

Fits into my 'not a ideal RS' category. Find them very underwhelming.

Thats an opinion though.. I think RS is not unfamiliar with turbos.
Hence the 'my', this whole things is based on opinions.

No they aren't, but for me its NA all the way. In this day and age powerful NA's are going to be dying out, which is a shame. Its going to have to be something I'll have to get used to.

Above all I just wish it had a manual box, less doors and looked like a RS should and not like a Astra.

I'm out

Also, the GT86 convertible has leaked and I have to say it looks gorgeous. It has uprated interior and when I saw it, the new 911 Convertible comes to mind.
Just seen them, now nursing a lob on. That is one fine looking car.

I might get one when face lift comes out ;)
Well they couldn't make it look any worse..... Or can they
Or a few years when minor fixes have been made and that I kinda like it!!

I quite like it. I'm reserving judgement 'till I've driven one and see if any reports about the flappy paddle gearbox reliability come in, but with five doors it actually /could/ be my next car

I like it, would like to test drive it and see if it gives that same buzz as a 197/200 the video the guy doesn't look like he has to hussle it as much as the previous. It all looks too refined and stable, which I think will kill the fast feeling

Yeah I doubt you have to rev its t!ts off like the 172/200 normally aspirated engine. Being turbo charged means it probably has a load more torque lower down.

It'll probably feel fast in a different way. I mean if I consider my 172, it's quick when you rev it high, it's heavy, raw and feels edgy. You take my 225, it's quiet, refined but feels quick in a totally different way.

I quite like the idea of the new 200 being refined, effortlessly quick but still with that awesome RenaultSport handling. I think it suits the bigger model of Clio.

Never know, they may make the next Twingo RS a little quicker, make that the go-kart of the range. Or did I read rumours of them producing a Renault 5 remake, could make for a run of lightweight, raw, GT Turbos for those wanting the old skool feel. :D

yeah im also feeling quite interested and like you said strip that CLIO IV and it be like a GT Turbo :p would be cool if they make a clio IV V6 or vintage GT turbo with wide back wheel arches would be cool :p

Having seen the pricing now, I've registered my interest with a garage.

18895 base

19995 lux version.

But of course cup chassis is required. Tbh the lack of Brembos and recaros has put me off a little for the time being. So imagine I will need to wait for them to come out. Renault have said that they'll do recaros, or at least look at them.

And I seem to recall reading one of them suggesting the Brembos will come on the gordini in the future

£18895 for a clio?!

Yeah right. I'd rather 2 buy a Megane 225 a clio 197 a Twingo and a holiday!

That's fairly priced tbh. In fact it represents reasonably good value for money.

Times have changed since you could buy a 197 for £15k remember. Take inflation into account and the difference in technology and the standard features and it's probably better value

No point comparing new and used prices, of course.
