Lol, was also in sportpaleis yesterday :)
I was there with my girlfriend, some friends and amoungst them was Ghostz.

@ Singlespeed, looking forward to more

Oh, the 800 miles since Friday lunchtime have seen 34mpg which could improve now its not going to be thrashed at motorway speeds for hours at a time and the novelty wears off a bit (only a bit)

I averaged 32.95mpg on the way down ;)

ok I understand now

seems good after 4000. Before seems a bit wavy no?

 Unfortunaely yes.

That, and the idling was the problem from the start. The idling has been sorted and I haven't had any issues with idle/stalling or wanting to cut out. Its now prety much as stable as the standard engine and the flatspot is realy only a problem at wide open throttle... At 3000rpm and 3/4 throttle its not too intrusive

Its a lot better behaved and and power delivery than my old Astra which was a similar spec Vauxhall (Opel) 1.6 8V engine running a Webber carb

Speaking to BT-i last night and he said that this is an animal, can't wait to see on board vids of the roads around you Neil!

Ignore the mud and general mankiness
Puncture repaired in one of the rear tyres for the AD08s. Speedlines now need cleaning and sealing before they go back on, along with the calipers re-painting, then a proper wash and wax

BC Racing. BR series coilovers fitted

The spring preload (top locknuts) was factory set. Ride height adjusted with the botton locknut and unscrewing/screwing the upper body into the lower portion

I thought about fitting the additional 6mm spacer

Started off with 20 clicks from fully hard both front and rear for the shock absorber adjustment. So, 2/3rds soft. Only a short test drive done so far, but the handling is much sharper and direct than the cup dampers and Apex springs with oroginal top mounts. 90degree left turn at a T junction 30mph felt prety neutral balance, with minimal front end wash

Just measured mine as we said, came from factory at 85mm  how much space at the front do you reckon there might be considering I've got the 6mm spacers in?

I've also reduced the variance to less than half what it was, but ran out of light and patience this evening

Neil that looks awesome, I want mine at that height but wouldn't even know where too begin with coilovers

You could just bug Neil for answers  he's been absolutely awesome and quite patient with me, having spoken to me at length two nights on the trot. Can't thank him enough! It's actually easy enough to do, in fact it's really not hard, but we all like to make sure the bits that keep us on the road aren't gonna fall off :p Doing the rears (subject to me fiddling with the height) and undoing everything on the front has taken roughly 2 hours work but I've taken my sweet time.

Once again... thanks Neil!

Where has the mudflaps gone off the front?
Looking sweet, would look even better on the 2118s :D

How I want mine to look.... I envy you :(.

I want those coilovers and that spoiler but only want a mani and exhaust and 150bhp.

Awesome work Neil, what's next now?

Think I "bug" him enough let alone this sort off thing

The front struts are close enough to vertical to save working out any trigonometry (maybe if your going corner weighting and/or race setup) There is some leverage from the strut to the wheel line, so your 85mm (15mm less than my 100mm measurement) would probably end up 20mm lower than mine, with the tyre tread vanishing up into the arch.

Offroading in a snow covered New Forest may have been the cause of the drivers side one going AWOL. I think I've a spare piece to cut a replacement, but I'll get some better fir tree clips as these ones kept comming loose. I took the passenger side one off on Saturday as the rollers were going to be rather low. As it was, there was only a couple of mm clearance for the front bumper lower lip.

2118s back on tomorrow if I get chance to re-painted the calipers

Deffo make the time to repaint them! Mine will be black again this weekend on the front and the rest will be sorted for it to go in for geometry.

I've adjusted them back to 95mm as my rear was lower than yours anyway. Hopefully no rubbing! Just noticed you didn't purchase (or at least fit) any extenders?

Once I'm happy with the damping, the foam cover will be glued back onto drivers side topmount and the scuttle panel sealed again. Its not like I'll be swapping and changing on a regular basis
