I'm not looking for that low tbf cos I know it just ain't sensible I just want it to sit nice and I do plan on tracking it but would just swap wheels over cos have some multispoke a under the spare bed to use as track wheels I just want abit of camber and fairly low not sat on the floor

My mate had a FN2 Civic Type R lowered right down to it's danglies on coilovers, he even took the helper springs out to get it even lower. Drove like a bag of ****, handled like a bag of **** and the ride quality was horrendous. Not even worth it.

Of course it is, if you want the look and arent bothered about the handling or inconvenience caused by being too low. Do you keep running up to 4x4 drivers insisting that they lower the ride height as their handling is compromised from being too high?

I raised the front of mine (12mm) as it was just a bit too low, often scuffing the undertray and the flaps in front of the front wheels. It was fine for me, day to day, but I wasnt sure if it would get on/off a trailer or the RR when it was away down South. So, I balanced out the front/rear rake back to factory setting.

Thinking of slamming the qashqai....

my aim is to have it sitting the same as this, not stupid amounts of camber or tuck just sitting flush with arches and fairly low :)

Look at maggis progress thread, he's what I'd say verrry low and probably wasn't far off that arch gap on his 182s but his car is used every day(he has 16s), also Singlespeed is equally as low I think but is on 15s although his car looks like it should be on a track with his style compared to maggis which I think is more showy.

They both are using BC racing coil overs which seem to be extremely good and go lower than all other coilovers, me and moving shadow have Weitec coilovers(he has a wind with the 133 chassis) and they go low enough for daily use with lots of speed bumps which I have to put up with

I was once this low

Hard to tell on that but you get an idea it did catch on speed bumps around me so it's been raised alot more, wouldn't say any of our 3 cars are stanced, ollie is mega stanced but I don't think he's done many miles for a year or so because of the lows.

Now its like this which is the height I think is perfect for me:

Hope that's somewhat helpful, just don't make it undriveable low as that's silly IMO

I think I'm sticking to 17s so I won't be stupid low I just want the arches flush with the wheels and a bit of stretch, I live in town and have gone off driving like a **** so I want a car that looks good sat in traffic and rolling around town tbf

Theres a bit of a dilemma, as realistically you can go wide or low but not both without messing about with arch clearances or ways to keep the tyre from the arches.

Ollie tried a narrow tyre, stretched.
Im nowhere near as low and, with a modest ET43 offset on 7x15 wheels, 1/2degree rear camber shims stoped the rears rubbing with the 195/50/15 rubber.

If your still on Cup 17s with 195/40/17 tyres, you could probably space them out by 10-12mm to equal ET45 or ET43... beyond this, the fun starts

Had Enkei Yamato 7x17 ET40 with 195/40 17"and H&R Lowering Springs (25mm) ...no Issues really. And before that i had CUP-Wheels with 20 mm Spacers ....no problem too

Not my cup of tea personally but this has been done before (unsurprisingly from Belgium)

Just the smoothing of the front. "Dribble"

my renault diamonds are being smoothed off in three months. i actually cannot wait to get rid of them lol. it was something i wanted to do for ages but it won't be euro or stanced or anything, i only want it done for the very sly but subtle look it gives to the front end :) looks mean doesn't it?

How would you go about doing this ?? I want want want haha

simple really mate. take the diamonds off and sand the paint off around it, get it nice and flat down to the plastic of the bumper and then build up the hole with fibre glass and then filler to finnish it off > send it off to the lovely chaps in your local bodyshop for a £140 respray and the jobs a good one :)

Too complicated, just stick a bit of metal on there and no one will notice the work. This guy did it with his metro making it a 6r4 replica and you'd never tell

Serious comment: If you don't fancy sanding down and fibreglassing and fillering it yourself I'm sure a good body shop could do it for you but will add to the price of just painting the front end.

if you ever do this pay attention to the symmetry of the middle of your bonnet , cause that guy didn't and in real life it looked weird o_O

Granted, I havent seen the grey Twingo above, but I've seen several smoothed cars before now and the finish rarely looks good with some light on the surface. Compound curves comming to a point must be a nightmare to blend in a new section
