I'm guessing it all depends what car, the weight, how much it gets lowered and most important.. how you drive your lowered car.

Looking at your pictures, you have alot of countryside roads.

It was more the quality and look of them that was disapointing when compared to the originals. Most of the paint had flaked off from the springs and the damper bodies were showing lots more rust and corrosion to the dipped coating than the Audi dampers.

Side by side, the Audi ones were in much better condition and looked half the age of the Weitecs which went straight in the skip. Realy it should have been the other way round. Added to that, when originaly fitting the kit, the first set of springs were so imbalanced that the rear end couldn't be adjusted to get both sides level... There wasn't enough travel on the adjustable platforms to get it level, never mind being height adjustable. One platform was fully raised and the other was fully extended and it was still lopsided. Setting both platforms at the same position, there was 25mm difference side to side! Weitec won't be on my shopping list again :(

Since you said that, I've been looking at other forums and looking for comments and feedbacks on Weitec and so far everyone speaks highly of it.

You have the cheaper brands like Vmaxx or Technics. The guy at W&D showed us a coilover from Technics and the spring was bend.. normaly springs break but not bend.

Anyway, maybe you were just unlucky :?

First time I waxed it:

2 months ago I contacted W&D Styling for coilovers. He looked at my registration papers and was almost certain they're the same ones as the Twingo.

But he asked some time to look it all up.

about a good 3 weeks ago I called him again and said he contacted German manufacturers (KW/Weitec/AP) and said they haven't responded yet.

Yesterday I called again and said neither one of them has a coilover kit (he usually only works with the KW and sister brands) so he said he'll look at other brands.

I'm afraid he wont find coilovers and that I'll have to do with only lowering springs.

get a wheel off and take some measurements of the bolt spacing and distance between the fork, where the shockabsorber connects to the hub carrier. A couple of pictures and then email bc racing, as they suspect the lower mount from 1.2 is the same as the clio kit they have.

They suspect they could make a set, but, as nobody has actualy measured it (as far as i'm aware) then bc haven't confirmed they could make up a kit from already stocked parts

I'll have to free up some time for doing that.

Meanwhile I've told W&D to look for lowering springs as well if he doesn't find a coilover kit.

H&R drops 20 mm in the front and 30 mm in the back for the Wind.

Btw, isn't this something that Karl can easily figure out what kind of suspension is in the car?

In theory, "Yes" though if they have different part numbers, then "No." As the Wind is slightly heavier, it could easily have different spring and/or damping rates.

but from the part numbers, he can't tell the differences? There's like no description or details he can find with the part numbers?

Very little. Don't forget, Renault want the parts depts. to buy stuff in Renault boxes. If the spec was shown, then garages may be tempted to buy OE parts from Renault's suppliers and make more profit for the garage.

the sound it makes is so awesome.. I had a recording but mobile facebook on my phone decided to devourer it and it got lost.

I took out the Ktec dumpvalve and placed the original part back in. I did this to try out some stuff and also, when I'm going to the Ring, I'd prefer having the original Renault part.

But, because I placed it back (it connects the turbo with the airintake), it actually pulls the air intake pipe more forward and now it creates (sometimes) this annoying vibrating rattle.
Think the hose touches the pipe from the intercooler because they're right next to each other.
You can see that in my previous post, the second last picture.

I'll have to get it in place with the help of some straps. There's a ring in the back of the engine compartment that held the original airbox intake in place.

Hopefully it will stop, the rattle is not loud but annoying.

Should I do a remap with this new airfilter or not?

Some people say an airfilter doesn't change a damn thing, other say that now that it sucks up alot more air that the car should be mapped to the according air filter.

well i thought it was acctualy proven that like a BMC CDA or K&N induction kit reduces a few HP instead of gaining vs the original airbox with aftermarket filter ofcourse .

But the hell with it Awesome induction sound vs 2 HP gain i think your choice will be quite easy :D

i wouldnt remap it , unless you throttle response is weird vs stock filter , thats what i would do , your choice ;)
