frediiii, Boxster is gay... it gets better but still gay.

GT3, on the other hand ...

ah come on, give them some credit... the current boxster is a giant leap into the right direction. wonder when they'll bring the new cayman. GT3 plays in another league though. no arguing about that :)

Gotta say i rewinded the TT RS bit a few times :D

Would love to drive your car just to see how it feels i bet it feels nothing like a Twingo Rs whatsoever!

I drove a brand new RS the other day, did maybe 5 minutes and gave it back. It feels ultra rubbish! The camber transformed the car and the coilovers are a massive improvement too. Power-wise, it's better and lighter but not that big of a difference compared to the rest.

Well, end of May you should have MovingShadow's impressions :D

Does the camber wear the tyres out for regular road? Also what camber you running and is thqt front only?

I hear you on aftermarket suspension it really givesbyou the extra feel and confidence over a standard setup i daren't even think about cornering in the twingo like i used to in the saxo...

The camber doesn´t really affect the tires on normal roads, I have to admit that the R888 don´t wear so fast when driving normally. But it allows a perfect use of all the surface of the tire on the track, where I wear them off much faster!!

I have AST Sportline 2 coilovers, with camber mounts in the front, and camber plates on the axle at the back (from Twingo R2 catalog). Currently I´m at -2.4° camber in the front with 1° opening, and -1.5° camber in the back.

The coilovers are definitely better than the Cup suspensions I had as standard, less roll, less movements, but then it makes the front sway-bar feel almost too soft now.

do you know the stock camber values? I was planning on setting mine to -2@front and -1@back. already got excenter screws and camber plates.

Stock camber is 0° everywhere. We checked that when I smashed the car last year ...

Excenter screws are a good alternative but be sure to take good quality ones!

I hereby declare You

Lol pretty cool logo :)

Some news regarding the car :

The front brake discs are dead, more than dead actually, so I´ll get a new set next week. The new brake pads are coming shortly, hopefully in time for the end of May!

I´ve done a bit of work yesterday on the car :
bleeding of the front brakes (the rear were clean so i didn´t change the liquid)
rerouting the cooling ducts on the front brakes. They were under the car before and I scratched them a few times over the curbs. Now they go inside the front of the wheel arches, have a bit more freedom to move before the wheel so they won´t be as stressed as before in full lock when turning the wheels. The now go in the front, where the fogs were before (never use the fogs so I figured, removing them won´t kill me :D ) and fit nicely in the holes. All clean and neat front end now, good to look at and more efficient.

One thing left to do is to buy a product to "loosen" a bit the adjusting screw under the front suspensions. As they are exposed to water and debris, they got a bit rusty and it´s now pretty hard to rotate them by hand to adjust the oil in the coilovers so I need to clean that to bring it back to complete usability.

Still waiting on my steering rack adjusting spacers to get my steering wheel in a perfect position though, hopefully I´ll get my hands on them before end oy May too.

He said discs.as far as I'm aware the pads are changed on this car more often than I change my underwear

I said discs, and later i also said pads...

The previous set was installed on the Wednesday before Easter, and removed on the Sunday at lunch as they were absolutely dead. So they lasted about 1 day and a half on the track ...

Brembos, well, they cost money, and changing time for the pads isn´t really a problem for me. Changing my front pads takes me about 20-25 min maximum now :)

just sayin', as I swapped the pads on my mothers 225 megane on saturday and was surprised how easy it was :)

Actually the R2 Evo rally cars use them now (from Clio R3) but they have issues with the brake servos and anti-lock system.

Anyway, CL pads on standard calipers are definitely a good fit for track use.
