not keen on the red leather to be honest.. Do like the fact that you've decided to go for a BMW :twisted:

Been looking at the coupe instead of convertible and they are usually around £3,000 cheaper! so i need to decide if i really need a convertible and how much i will actually use it driving up and down the motor way..

what would peoples input be on this?

convertible = chickmagnet :lol:
for going up and down the motorway I think the coupe will be better.. Less noise, more fuell efficient I guess..

Convertible all the way rob!! You can get those wind breakers for the motorway! Be a proper posing wagon. Do it!!

I've really liked the coupe version since I first saw it, but having a convertible would be awesome for summer days. My folks have two convertibles (saab 93 and Audi tt) and with the roof up, motorway noise is fine, but even with the wind breakers I'm not sure I could put up with it for a very long while down the motorway - it does tend to get to you after a while.
Down the fun roads and even normal single carriageway roads it's great, but with the extra noise (and things like lorry smog, and any dust that gets kicked up {especially through roadworks etc} as you pass them) you'll probably end up with the roof up for large amounts of your journey

Tl;dr convertible would be awesome for when you get to use it, don't think you'll end up using it too much on the motorway

Just spoken to BMW... they offered me 6500 for my twingo against a 1 year old 118d convertible with less than 8k miles on the clock...hmmmm

I personally cant see how that will be cheaper to run the milage you will be doing will mean servicing will need doing sooner. Might be worth asking about service costs.

my mileage is increasing (worked it out) from around 10K a year to roughly 18K +

If i buy from a dealership (specifically the car im talking to them about at the moment) i get free servicing for the first 5 years.
