I personally cant see how that will be cheaper to run the milage you will be doing will mean servicing will need doing sooner. Might be worth asking about service costs.

my mileage is increasing (worked it out) from around 10K a year to roughly 18K +

If i buy from a dealership (specifically the car im talking to them about at the moment) i get free servicing for the first 5 years.

I say nomore you win :p

Just spoken to BMW... they offered me 6500 for my twingo against a 1 year old 118d convertible with less than 8k miles on the clock...hmmmm
Your wanting to go the oposit way Ive just gone. I've gone form a 118d to a twingo lol.
Have it re mapped to 185bhp and 400 nm of torque for 350 quid will change the car from a slug to thug. And gain mpg.
Also the servicing is condition based.

please yourself, go for a coupe, it looks much better imho:

i personally think the orange is trying to make it something its not, like a chad who can afford a bmw but really still wants an st.

Black, White or maybe Red BMW's ftw!

Saw a couple of 1 series convertibles today. A White one with red seats that does look very nice, and one of my near neighbours has just got a grey one with black leather seats. That one's a bit monochromatic for my liking, but still fairly nice.

I'm not a fan of all those 'boring' colours, I think it's nice to see and ride a car with a colour that you don't see all the time. A lot of people go out for a new car and say, well, I'll take a (for example) white one, because that will probably sell better, although I like (for example) purple more.. good lord, you're spending so much money on a new car that you'll probably drive for a good few years, and then you even like it in the end..

imho; orange on that 1coupe looks great! makes the car stand out! and could well be M3GTS' little brother

if the 1 series convertible handles and twists like the 3, once the honeymoon period wears off, you will probably be disapointed with the ride. Espessialy going from a 133

I used to work for BMW, just couldnt grasp what all the fuss was about tbh! Except the true M series cars of course

The build quality is very good but for the money I don't think they offer anything special.
My misses bought one a month ago and its going up for sale/traded in at the weekend coz it just doesn't live up to what it should b

Not including the M series BTW ;)

I think the equivilent Audi would b a much better buy

Rob have u considered a new Honda civic?
U could buy a new one for the price of some second hand 1 series!the diesel eats miles without thinking about it, much cheaper to service, more fun to drive, better mpg and I think it looks much better

Even when standard they are great engines.but there are loads of tuning potential with them.
Plus its a Honda so it will never go wrong!!!
