Depending on when you pre-ordered you might have a couple of weeks wait. And you'll also have to hope the delivery company hasn't updated to iOS6

Why, what's wrong with iOS6? All 5's come with iOS6 anyway.

Yeah, as linked to in that thread the apple maps are terrible. Not only are the maps awkward and the satellite view massively blurred /obscured by cloud in many places, but also places are missing & not where the should be. If you search for Luton Apple maps sends you south of Exeter.

Right, so one application that has issues makes the entire OS defunkt. LOL I love Apple haters that join bandwagons, correction - ******* despise them.

Open safari, type google maps. Solved.

I'm not a hater here... Just a little frustrated as I'm a 4 owner and lost functions because of an update.

I'm actually lookin forward to seeing and testing out a 5!

Got to be amused, and it's true too, maps suck, go google maps!

I'm not a hater either, in fact have been an apple fan and had apple products over many years.

True you can use Google maps in the browser and make a shortcut to the home screen, but it's not as fully functional as the old maps app, still losing you street view, and its still not got the same usability.
There are other reasonable updates in iOS 6, however in my opinion and for my useage (which is allowed to differ from yours) the maps are quite important. When you're paying the most for the most premium product why would you not expect the best, and to not have features you had before removed from you and/or made worse in an update.

I understand fully why apple would want to make the change to get revenue from the system for themselves, but it shouldn't have been released in the state it's in. I'm not saying the whole iOS is defunked, but rather an important app which people put a lot of trust in has been made purely not good enough.

Anyway..... Having ti work away tisay, so Still no been home and if the phone was delivered, I wouldn't no, and it will be a card saying I wasn't home, and I'm out if town this weekend, so may not get it till Monday!

If it was delivered tht is! Haha.
I pre ordered on the Friday of release date!

Hopefully it's there for you Lordy. Royal mail have stared leaving packages at neighbours houses round here, so if it's with them they could've done that and it be waiting for you.

Our 2 white ones arrived at around half 4. Definitely much snappier than our old 4. Camera is considerably better, just now gonna play with Siri since I've never experienced "her".

+1 on the above

Yay! Mine arrived! I'm liking it! Not had much time on it as I ended up in the pub last nite. Will check in later on, when I've played with it more!

I don't get why people queue for hours just for the sake of having one before everyone else?

It's a phone, not like they're tickets to once in a lifetime gig or similar?

There was an experiment done which they showed images of certain object to religious people and tech fans. The images of apple products engaged the same part of the brain as pictures of crosses and Jesus did to religious people.

It's more than a phone to some people

But it's still only an object that's obsolete in a year or two to those people. It's a status symbol more than a phone I would say. And I can't see why personally

True, to some people undoubtedly it is a status symbol. However, I bet most people choose to buy one for its functionality and usability. I'm still to use a phone that is as good as an iPhone.

I'm looking at getting either a 4s or the 5 but want to try one first as I'm still using a 3GS. I certainly want it for its functions not the status symbol.
