I done about 200 miles on the decat and had no warning light however my decatted 172 took about a month and 1500 miles before I got it. you can now get "mini cats" that screw into your labda hole and then the lambda screws into that which makes the ecu think your running a cat, cost about £70.

the GT exhaust goes manifold, turbo, cat, downpipe, centre section then backbox. I was looking to leave my decat fitted and have a custom downpipe made as its just under the gearstick area so its easy to swap between a straight pipe and cat come mot time, I recon this would be expensive to make but save A LOT of hastle.

again this weekend I removed the decat and fitted the cat and can confirm where its very fiddly and a lot of trial and error you don't need to remove the driveshaft (meaning drain the gearbox oil), just remove the lower engine mount and that allows you to rock the engine back and forward on its top mounts. There is also a mount that the cat bolts onto at the exhaust side, this had to be removed too but was only 3 10mm bolts and a 13mm into the gearbox

also for future reference I ordered a new turbo to cat gasket from Renault wasn't expensive £7 or something delivered (online) but to be honest I could have got away with reusing the old one, so I wouldn't bother.

the spring bolt fitting kit for the cat to exhaust again I reused it, ive never been able to on any RS clio ive done but on my 6yr/60k mile twingo it was fine, but doing it again I would probably order one of these if you cant afford to do without your car incase one shears off when fitting unless you have done very low miles

I've send an email to Skytune (he installed my costum twin-exhaust catback) and asked if he could install the de-cat and place a removable cat on the exhaust pipe between the decat and the catback to make it look legal when I need to go to the Nazi-Belgian-we-want-your-money-MOT

that's definitely the best way to go as that way you an just forget about your downpipe once its fitted its fitted, and you can benefit from the noise and power gain you get, and come mot time its a simple swap to refit :)

Does the catalyctic converter from Ktec fit on the decat pipe from Protoxide?
Edit: I just checked Protoxide website and it looks like their catalyctic converter looks different then the one from Ktec :?

I've contacted Skytune and so far he didn't say he couldn't but did ask to send a link from Ktec website with the decat pipe so he can take a look at it.

If all goes well, I'll buy that Protoxide pipe from you :p

No luck

He said he could not do it probaly because he could not get a cat to fit the exhaust pipe and make it look legal for a GOCA (TüV).
