it hit 98% injector duty, so 4th gear up a hill etc then it will most likely be pushing past 100% but ill see what Henk recons and update you guys.
Seriously not good. Potentialy running lean when working its hardest is a sure fire way to melt something.

All it needs is for one of the injectors to flow a bit less than the rest and theres nothing left to give...

Even a different tank of fuel could be enough :(

See what he k says bud but since its normally the case with injectors ...

ive been monitoring AFR when data logging and its all looking ok, it seems the ECU is trying to protect its self by pulling back when it gets close to maxing out the injectors, however this is just my theory ill see what henk recons, it could be something unrelated and a sensor issue with my car.

With this remap does it feel like a completely different car then? I'm just wondering what mine is going to be like with 140bhp when it comes back...

yep completely transformed, ive driven a few mapped TCE's although always Clio 3's so the weight maby disguises the torque a bit but this thing has so much mid range punch its awesome, much more mid range punch than my GT DCI or mapped DCi100 had!

Received the RS tuner today, sent henk the screenshot with my car details and he sent me the best performance map to suit it. uploaded it and WOW!!!!! ive driven a few remapped TCE renaults and they are impressive but this thing is just savage! the mid range torque is brilliant, im hardly taking it past 4000rpm even when going for it.

it threw up the engine management light and went into limp mode, but after switching it off and then back on again it was gone, logged a few fault codes so ive sent them over to Henk to see what he thinks but i recon its the injectors spitting out the dummy due to me having a k-tec filter too as well as the map, as the map is designed to get the maximum out the standard car and i think my filter may just be pushing them past their limit. I done some data logging and 2nd gear at 5800rpm it hit 98% injector duty, so 4th gear up a hill etc then it will most likely be pushing past 100% but ill see what Henk recons and update you guys.

wack some 182 injectors in it there a 5 min job. if it still happens you u know it cannot be the injectors maxing out

How do you remove injectors from the rail I've removed the metal clip but I dot wana pull Incase breaks...

yeah unclip and then just pull, dont be a weakling ;)

quick 30-70mph blast to let ya see how it goes, you will notice the speed tailing off above 60mph as the cars pulling boost back due to not being able to get the fuel, AFR still staying ok though so no risk to engine just the ECU protecting its self.

Before assuming the ECU can protect itself, it may be worth bearing in mind theres only one lambda sensor, monitoring the combined exhaust gasses.

Would it be possible for one cylinder to end up running lean and be masked by the others running slightly rich?

somthing worth keeping in mind, cheers

Henk is sending me an update map this week

mate bought a 1.2 16v timingbelt failure for to sort for his mrs off another mate, it came with a decent pioneer stereo (i fitted this to the car about 5yrs ago funny enough!) however my buddy prefers the standard stereo which i happened to have a 182 Cabasse unit lying in my garage, so we swapped :)

boom tastic, sounds awesome even on the standard speakers, ill swap them soon though!

car is still suffering issues with developing missfires and spitting out the dummy into limp mode, Emailed henk back and forward a few times hes told me hes sending me an updated map this week.

ive uploaded it back to the standard map for now and its running spot on, so definately a map issue.

However something to note, on the standard map the injectors are hitting 101.5% duty cycle when on the overboost! no wonder renault didnt enable overboost in 5th gear!!!

ive told henk that i dont mind forking out for a set of 182 injectors if he can map the car to run them, as currently ive got a product i cant use!

30-60 in 7 seconds? bit gutless is she not not? or are you not trying to light her up here man?

Whilst annoying, its probably a good idea reloading the std map. If the updated one is having to modify the timing etc to protect the engine, you wouldn't be getting the best out of it anyway, whilst risking a burnt valve or piston.

It sounds like higher flowing injectors are realy needed, as 80-90% duty cycle is much more preferable. So, 182 injectors before another logging run with the map, then try and get it refined. Thats the problem that put me off, in that its taking a while between runs to get a revised map sent back, tested and then another.

cars sorted now, henk looked at the data logging and only thing he could see wrong was the actuator on the turbo playing up, so i striped the car down and reset the actuator tension and bingo no more engine management light!
