thats the thing, it would just be a guess and even comparing rolling road figures is meaningless unless its the same car on the same rollers and same conditions.Peter":2t3kw11f said:Would someone be able to guess what the differences in performance would be between this one and the one Yotah has? Aren't the CTR engines hand finished and also have variable valve timing on both inlet and exhaust unlike the 1.6 K4M. The spec isn't exactly run of the mill stock engine, having a limit of 9000rpm1975DCS":3cyhnouy said:Based on the R2 I would say that the exhaust (and especially the manifold and big sized CAT) and airbox are the parts to have (or to be looked after) when modifying? That probably means at least the specially designed "RS" inlet manifold is good enough to start with?
But after all, it is amazing to see how the first CRX VTI's produced 160 bhp and the CAT version between 150-155 bhp and the first Civic Type-R made 180 bhp! All from stock!
The original CTR had a 1.6 with the original, simpler VTEC, not the fully-variable iVTEC on the K20.singlespeed":25v5tcsp said:Aren't the CTR engines hand finished and also have variable valve timing on both inlet and exhaust unlike the 1.6 K4M.
