Don't worry, the review is also on their webpage ;) Must admit I was surprised they were not giving it any high praises, would be interesting to hear Neil comment on what they've written!

Most of the standard cars have a flatspot between 2300 and 2800rpm anyway. I didnt think the flatspot was any more intrusive with stage 1 cams and replacement exhaust... maybe slightly more pronounced because of the extra power above it. If your going to drive at 2500rpm all the time then you wouldnt be spending out lots of money on cams

Mine on the other hand does have a flatspot and 3000 - 4000 is I bit harder to work with

Shhhhh. If my car heard you say that

I hit that flat spot when ash took off in front of me Sunday in his gt. Needless to say I'd have to have maxed 3rd gear to have pulled level as I had no torque and no power lol
I would still be interested in the cams but I wonder if it's worth it. Did you drive their car when you visited?

All you have to do when you're giving it some is just stay above 4000 rpm which isn't too much to ask anyway to be fair

 I've sussed that out already. Its getting fun when both shift and traction control lights are lit at the same time.

Neil, do you have any idea how much your 2118's weigh? Looking at getting them and powder coating them black.
afraid not James. Being a gravel rally wheel, they aren't the lightest.

Lighter than the standard Cup 17's though right?

Somethings missing :p

Ahah, found it

Odysey PC950 battery. I'm sure I could have got away with a smaller/lighter one as the cranking amps from this type of batteries is usualy greater than a standard wet cell (but not as high as the very light but super expensive LiPo) so, even a smallest battery can easily turn over the engine. But, regularly leaving it for 3 weeks at a time, I think a smaller one could leave me stranded sooner or later for the sake of 3.5Kg

Still a few things to finish and sort out:-
Making a bracket to hold the battery, although I'm tempted to keep the ratchet strap
Replacing the engine earth cable with a longer one so the earths arent bolted together in free space where the battery neg terminal used to be.
Fitting a 175A Mega fuse into the new holder next to the battery to protect the new cable down to the distribution fuse box that contains the original fuses which used to live under the terminal cover of the battery.
Double check everything is tied/bolted down securely and rebuild the interior

You have a big hole too
Gives options for moving the coolant expansion tank and/or having a filter there once the TB's go on

What are you going to do with that filter you have now when the ITB's get on  adapt this one for the add on to cover your ITB's or .... (if you know what i mean ;) )

Do I sence vultures circling

If I need to use a plenum style inlet, I'm tempted with the clio S1600 style inlet so I'll probably modify this one. If swapping to a Polo radiator works well to create some free space inftont of the boddies, I may just use a sausage type filter so this one may be spare ;)

hehe i was only wondering :p keep up the work Neil i can't wait how it will sound and look after the ITB's

VW Golf radiator 171.121.253 CJ ordered, which has both the inlet and outlet on the left hand side of the car and its also a bit narower and about 80mm shorter in height. Also ordered, a temp switch and a new fan to go on the back of the radiator. Obviously, it will need new mounting points but the extra clearance should pay dividends when it comes to fitting the throttles and deciding on an airbox/filter

Throttle bodies are currently being anodised then getting assembled (hopefully this week) :)
