I checked mine this evening. Just got a face full of floor and didn't see much

Just assume they're split! :)

I got the car over the pit and jumped in and mine look perfect.

Carries are now in need of replacing though

I'm not going to complain. Done 47k so good run I'd say.
I've already been looking at parts to see if just the rubber can be changed and not the whole arm

anyone tried repair kit?

where can i buy/order r1 proyection of balljoint?

After speaking to Renault UK, they told me that it wasn't a common issue and that it's a wear item. They've booked it into Renault for an inspection, despite already telling them that I've seen its split already. No mention of them paying for it or contributing either.

Hi RS133ETO,

I have just had mine done for free even though my car is out of warranty. I phone Renault customer service and complained about the issue, They said that they weren't going to pay for it.In the end I went to Masters Renault Beckenham and they told me that it was manufacturing fault, they then offered to do it for free as my car has way under 60k miles on the clock.

I'm going to Renault Cardiff on Tuesday when it's booked in for an inspection, I'll also be taking a print-out of this thread to prove to them it is a common fault. How come the Renault you went to recognised it was a manufacturers fault and not any other Renault's?

I know when mine went to Smith's in Peterborough they said they'd seen several so were taking it to Renault as a common fault. The only reason I can think of for some not knowing about it is 133s are not that common, so just those that deal with them know about it?!

I first went to renault toomey in essex and they said that It would cost me £580.00 . After hearing that I jumped on the the phone to Renault customer service as explained above. To be honest I dont know why but all they said to me is from the diagnosis that they did they could see that it was a manufacturer fault and not wear and tear. You just have to put foot down.

Ridiculous price. They'll only split again in a couple of years and it'll be the same situation all again. They really need to do a recall on this.

I also mentioned the 133.net forum and they did not like that one bit!!

Yup I agree 100%, hope you get it the problem sorted.

Hi everyone new to the forum. I have a twingo 133 that I have had the lower wishbone replaced on the car about 2 years ago with about 8000 miles on the car. I ve checked the car and the rubbers have perished again and the cars just coming up 17000 miles. The cars an 09 plate so out of warranty . Anyone think it worth me contacting renault? Surly they should last longer than that? Has anyone got the phone number or email address of renault uk please??

Just had a phone call from Renault and they have book my car in for inspection on Monday. Sound petty positive so Ill let you know how I go next week. He said it wasn't a common problem on the phone! But he did say they expect parts to last at least 5 years and mine had only lasted 2 years.

Renault offered to contribute 50% for the repair. £458 just for 1 side?! Apparently they haven't had enough issues with it to warrant a manufacturer fault. Not confident paying that much only for it to split again within 2 years.

I will dig out my paperwork tomorrow but both sides were about that, sounds like you're contributing almost 100%

I was surprised at the cost , but they offered to pay about £228. I'll get it done on my warranty from an independent garage.
