Last lap of the day filmed from a friend's 197. His car has pretty much the same upgrades as mine, but I'm on street tires, he's running R888s.

Last lap (record lap) from last Sunday :

That lap was filmed also from the Clio which follows me. The link to the CLio's video is in the description on Youtube.

I think it's safe to say that you have reached the limit of the power and rev range now. The amount of time the poor thing is flat out in top gear :)

Forged bottom end, pistons and cams?????

I was thinking of simply asking you your address and coming to relieve you of your nice little modded engine :D

Awesome! I always wonder to myself what the people on bikes must think when the dinky little Twingo shoots past haha

I don't know this game

how you import the sticker ?
the result is really good

Yeah, and as Forza doesn't have my OZ rims, I went for these. They indeed look very sexy on the Twingo. I might go down this road for the next set of wheels in the future :)

Looking as good as ever Yotah, are you going to be at the 'Ring from the 21-26Aug? Would love to see it in person :)

Yotah I'd like to see you tune the 1.6 rather than swap the engine for a different unit. You know the handling characteristic of your car so well and obviously like the way it goes round corners. I personally wouldn't want to risk losing or changing the balance to something you don't like. I bet another 30bhp or so would keep you well happy. Plus the sound of the engine should get even better.

Look forward to seeing what you do :)

Hi
great vids on YT, i found them before this site even.
i have a few questions about brakes.

few weeks ago i tried a new garage, cos my front OEM pads were completly gone in a previous track day (after 4-5 heavy days). I didn't really checked them, anyway.
they said i should but on brembo-s on the front (disk+pads), they were like 10-20% cheaper than the OEM, what the hell, i think the OEM pads and discs are brembo too

after i left the garage, i tested them, and after a few heavy brakes, they already had a smell and faded, which never happend on the oem sets, not after 20min of track attack.
i went to a track day yesterday, and after ONE hour, the full pad was GONE, 3x20 min, and at the end of the 3rd stint, i heard a big bleap, stop sign on the dash, and after that, i could feel that i was breaking with metal pretty much.

WTF, 1 hour?, rly?

now i want to order CL RC5+ pads for the front
is it OK, if i leave the OEM disk and pad at the rear? they barely ware, but now they are worn.
next year i'm going to use R888, so a little extra stopping power can't hurt. But RC5+ front and worn oem rears on semi slicks, is it ok? i'm on a tight budget, and another 150 for the rear pads, which are barely do any breaking is a little steep for me, but if it's a must... ?

what brake oil should i use?, and my Clio friend recommended metal brake lines, they are a must for semi slicks, according to him.
what is your opinion about it? And can the stock CUP chassis handle R888s properly?
also the front discs. they have a few scratches, should i get a new ones? or the new CL pads will just 'ware to it'?

I hope KAM racing delivers to outside UK :D

thanks

Stunty, I'll go down the swap route, because I'm going down the "mental project" route :D It might become the most powerful and crazy Twingo RS ever built ahahah

Mr-Ben, sorry I didn't answer before, I was in France for the holidays as my B-day is on August 25th, I'm always home for it :)

LSL1337 :

Cl Brakes pads are awesome, but they can be a bit disc-consuming. There's no secret, good braking power means heavier use of the parts. CL RC5 on the front combined with OEM on the back will work without any problem, I used a similar setup for more than a year without any issues. Braided brake lines (metal) are a plus, but not an absolute must have. I've tracked my RS for almost 2 years without having them on. One thing though, having semi slicks on the car doesn't mean at all that you absolutely need reinforced brake lines, this has absolutely nothing to do with it (your friend is saying some crap lol).

The R888 work perfect with the Cup chassis, but to be honest, it's better to have coilovers and some negative camber to bring out the best of the tires on track.

wow, thx!
I had every confidence in the stock CUP chassis, meanwhile i changed my mind about the brakes. I'm from Hungary, and CL doesn't have any local representation, and if i'd order from the UK, or something, it would cost more than double than Yellowstuff. I heard good things about it, and it costs me less than a 100 pounds for a front pad set.
Can't wait until next season with the slicks, and put them to the test. Gonna be close with MX-5-s in the local time attack series. I don't plan on any suspension changes, cos i'd like to keep it stock until i'll get proper money for a 250 :)
THX!
One day maybe see you at the Nordschleife :)
