callum you'll get your arse handed to you haha! brave boy though i like it. anthony's a maniac behind the wheel :p

Hahahha so true, Antony is a ******* god at the ring !!!!! But you know what my driving is like ;) I will give it a fair crack hahahahah

The Ring is all about one thing : track & car knowledge. And for that, you need laps, laps and more laps. No shortcuts possible here.

In the meantime, I worked for 7h straight last night on the car, sorting out some bits and bobs a bit everywhere, re-adjusting my ride height, testing the various shocks settings, cleaning up the engine bay, preparing the space for the new V6 airbox, cleaning my old K&N cone filter (explains a lot why the 1600cc engine was running poorly, that thing was full of junk, impossible for the motor to breathe properly!), removing the tow hook system, and so on. I left a couple of fingers and nails in the battle, but worth it.

I got the new airbox from the post office this morning (was fun to bring it back home on my bike, massive package...).

Next week, I'll take care of installing the mirrors on the car, adjusting the steering rack, putting the airbox in and doing 2-3 more details to the car.

It's getting there, was nice yesterday to just fire it up and be able to drive it, even slowly, to park it in the garage before working on it. Feels good being in the Blue Rocket again :)

This afternoon, I have to give a good clean to my old mirrors, the OEM manifold, the decat manifold, the AST shocks and a couple other parts before putting everything up for sale.

AST shocks ?? They gunna be available at some point mate ??

All the mechanical work is done!

The mirrors have been installed, the door interior panels are back in, the steering rack has been re-adjusted, the Clio V6 airbox is also fitted (that was a tight one...) and I managed to find what was making a metallic noise on my front end : some metal that was cut out to install the AeroCatch bonnet pins made its way into the bonnet's inner layer. After some thumping and moving around, I managed to spot it, get to the exit and take it out :D

Next week, my engine electronics specialist takes the car to his home and starts the work on it. It should be ready for end of August when I get back from holidays !

I took the opportunity of some free time to clean the Inoxline Performance decat exhaust manifold (full stainless steel, great quality) and also the AST shocks but they will be fully serviced before being put on sale.

The car is now at the garage where it is getting its new ECU and wiring installed. It will be running soon.

However, as soon as the electronics will be fitted, i must take it back to a workshop as the garage in Germany did not install the new engine sensors, as well as the wideband sensor on the exhaust for the final mapping. Also, we're not sure the fuel pump from the Twingo will be powerful enough to adjust to the new engine, and the stock fuel piping can't be modified to accomodate a fuel pressure sensor. So I'm trying to find what kind of fuel pump I will need to buy and install (it might force me to use an FIA certified fuel tank at the same time) , at the same time I'll switch to full custom reinforced braided hoses for the fuel system. That means quite a bit of work but it's for the best as that will ease my mind in terms of safety on the car.

Last thing is that to install the new fuel piping, I'll have to use a metallic fuel ramp instead of the OEM plastic one fitted to the engine from stock. So i'm trying to see if there are Clio Cup parts I could use or not...

All those changes have one big impact : no track time this year :(
So next winter, the program will be to finish a few details, weld in a full rollcage, lighten the doors and trunk, get to work on the new aero package with the new wing, splitter and diffuser.

looking very nice. and you were right the v6 box is a tight squeeze :)

i will have to plan the ring trip for next year for when your are there :)

That sucks that you won't get any track time this year but just think how awesome it'll be when it's all done!

I know that protoxide do a fuel pump for the twingo GT/clio TCE which is capable for up to 350hp. Or is it just more than the fuel pump that needs changing?

This is going to be amazing when it's all done :p or at least this stage of the modifications ;)

Yeah but ATL tanks are very expensive, and I must find one which fits and all... anyway, if I do it, better do it properly so the full fuel system will be upgraded.

Just ordered a fuel injection ramp, braided Aeroquip hoses and Clio Cup fuel pump from Martijn in Netherlands who deals with a lot of Clio 2 & 3 Cup cars. I'm also getting my hands next week on a high pressure Bosch fuel pump from a friend at Renault F1 as they don't use them anymore now that the V8s are gone, so F1 fuel pump it will be :p

I'm so jealous hahah

Full Clio 3 Cup fuel system with Aeroquip hoses, machined injection ramp, and fuel pump.

And the engine wiring loom on the table for simplification and coupling with the new Sybele wiring.
