Little update, thought i'd have a go at wrapping some bits of trim in the Clio. When I bought the car my mate gave me some carbon fibre wrap so I had a go with it at the weekend. It wasn't bad for a first attempt but wasn't quite right.

So I ordered some eBaytastic vinyl wrap which arrived today.

Don't you love that table cloth! Anyway, me and the Mrs had a go at and they came out quite good.

I have to say for what it cost it's worth having a go at a bit of wrapping.

All you need is a sharp blade, scissors and a hair dryer. lol

Although I could of wrapped the trim in bits of the table cloth. Would've been really unique haha

They look good, now to take the table cloth off and wrap the table

Funnily enough someone did say just wrap the entire table in it haha.

I just need to think of other stuff I can wrap now, since I have a fair bit sitting around.

Haha yeah good point, carbon wrapped pram!! :D
Yes! Then get your cars interior in some nice leather and get the child seat done too match

Hehe the Clio has leather but no chance of a baby seat going in the back. Planning to strip the back of the car out so no baby seats.

As much as I'd like the Duster's interior re-trimmed, I think I'll be protecting it from baby sick and footprints on the back of the seats haha.

Little update on the Clio, de-badged, stickers off and then re-badged with a new RS badge.

Then off with the Clio badge, which is held on with pins so luckily the new RS badge fits over the holes.

It's really good mate, used almost every day but runs perfectly. Must admit it's not done mega miles and I only do maybe 4-5k in it a year anyway.

There's something nice about driving a bargain, I mean don't get me wrong if something happened to it, I'd be gutted but not as gutted as the Megane or Gordini.

Yeah know what u mean, if it gets small marks or scratches then its not as bad as if it happened to one of the more expensive cars. Also you drive them a bit more spirited too ;)

Yeah it is the kind of car that needs a bit of spirited driving from time to time.

I'm just in two minds with it, keep it for a year or two then eventually have it upgraded or sell it for an S2000. :)

Well the Clio has been getting some more love this year so far but sounds like it's running rough. With a bit of investigation it turns out it's the dephaser pulley.

The problem with that is it requires the cambelt and all that stuff removed to replace. So she's booked in with K-tec for the 10th of June to have the cambelt, auxilary belts and dephaser replaced. Whilst it's there I'm having their camshaft performance package so will get a nrew cam and re-map so should be running another 15-20bhp when it comes home.

Roll on the 10th of June!! :)

nice. cheap pocket rocket

Well not as cheap as I was intending but hey, it needs £600 worth belts done, a bit extra makes sense to get some more power.

Once the Twingo goes, the Duster arrives I can strip the back and aim for a track car. :D

Come on Alex...

When you gonna let slip where you've been today...

Hahaha I'm guessing you mean my post on DW!

Well I've been shopping at K-Tec and got a few bits done. Dephaser pulley was rattling like a good'un so that needed replacing. Only problem with that is you need to take the cambelt off to replace it so it's a big job. So I thought I'd get the cambelt and auxilary belts sorted and why not go with their performance camshaft upgrade and re-map! Also had the induction kit replaced.

Now she only made 155bhp on the rollers, which was a bit low for my liking. Admittedly Clio 172s are renowned for making less than their quote figures but that was about 5bhp less than I was hoping for. The guys at K-tec suspected it was down to the crappy Halfords airfilter I had and the patent part exhaust centre pipe.

Aaaanyway, she finally made 178bhp which is a 23bhp increase and also made about 13lbs of torque more than the standard figures. To drive it's absolutely brilliant, more responsive and you can feel the extra grunt big time. Plus the noise at idle and as you rev it is something else!!

Next plans are a catback system which I have been told will make the most of the new cams and should make a possible 5-10bhp, which would be nice. It doesn't sound like a vast improvement but as I've been told and read, it's not all about the sheer horsepower figures and I'm inclined to believe that now. Well pleased. :)
