The AST brackets for the anti-roll bar, before modification (i sliced them in half and added another screw to be able to mount them and remove them without having to remove the complete suspension from the car).

How the lady was looking during the Xmas holidays, definitely needs a good cleaning (ie Kelly GT's car, maybe I should hire her to clean my car so well also!!!)

After 25kms of snowy roads, the Aravis pass in the Alps :D

The R2 suspension camber mounts (i bought them but you need to cut the metal of the suspension housing to weld a new part in place - the big cylinder - to be able to mount them, so at the engine change and rollcage install...)

And engine mount (well, let's face it, RS parts are expensive, but rock solid!!!!)

Not updated this thread for a while ...

Front anti roll bar is back in place with the AST mounts which arrived at Xmas, and this morning I ordered the R2 decal kit in grey for the body sides, should be on the car by the weekend :)

Next month, lightweight Lithium Ion battery (1.75kg!!), R2/V6 airbox, NGK R9 spark plugs, Samco cooling ducts, engine mounts from the R2, Ktec gearbox mount, new brakes ducts and boas, Brembo max disc brakes for the front, rear camber plates, R2 seat supports, R2 pedals, R2 steering wheel, pop off steering wheel support, modification of the steering column to lower it and bring the steering wheel backwards (will need tailor made parts for that...), removal of every electric wire which has become useless, removal of the aircon, R2 door panels, rear carbon panels to fit also, and some 3M carbon vynil wrap on the grey elements of the car (depending if the R2 decals are the same grey or not), and last but not least, I must put on the Twingo 133 stickers!!!!

If you're still using the CL Brakes pads, best to stick with brembo's standard plain disc rather than go for the grooved Max discs. CL Brakes reckon the pads work much better on discs without grooves or drilled holes

Thanks for the tip Kam :)

manofhow, yeah, you're spot on with the description :)

frediii, I'll get you the part number / price tomorrow while at work, I don't have it at home.

Frediii, the battery is a Super B Li-ion B10 batetry, 1.75 kg, about the size of a soda can, same performance as the OEM battery, just much lighter and it allows me to put the R2 airbox without rerouting the cables and the battery to the trunk. It costs a lot (540€) but removes so much work for me that it´s worth it!

funny. never heared of them until you posted this and yesterday I already found a reseller on a local motorsport convention. did you already order? that reseller has a limited time offer of -20 % until 4th of february. list price for the B10 was 499,-- + tax, so you could order there for around 480,-- incl. tax the whole next week... I kept a businesscard, if you are interrested.

for me that's still way too expensive for a bunch of LiFePO4 cells in a nice plastic box :) you can build a battery in similar size (B10 120x127x80) using 8 LiFePO4 cells from headway (model number 38120P). these are great cells in the dimension 120x38 with 8Ah capacity. in a 4s2p layout you have 16Ah @ 12V with 400A peak and 320A continuos discharge current at a weight of ~2,9kg

they also feature a nice, modular stacking system (like lego)...

If you don't need 16Ah, you can go back to using 4 cells. You still have 8Ah (the B10 has 10Ah), 200A peak and 160A continuos discharge. considering the twingo has a 1,1Kw starter, it should not consume more than 100A and you're good at 1,5kg

one cell at the manufacturer costs 19USD... in germany you can get one cell for 15€. so 4 cells + 8 mounting stacks + 4 connection plates + shipping comes at < 80€

It's worth bearing in mind, LiPO batteries require balance chargers to equalise the voltages in each cell, otherwise, you'll kill your battery awfully quickly..

right. even though LiPo are considered being much more picky on equalised charging compared to LiFePO. I wonder if/how they conquered the problem in those batteries, as the only passive balancers I found would only allow a charging current of 1-2A max... on very empty batteries the current using an alternator would easily exceed 40A... I think they just didn't bother and balanced the cells on initial charging...

Ahhh, I seem to be confusing Lithium Polymer with the batteries you're talking about :p

I can imagine the LiFePO are balanced at first but imagine if left alone for a while they'd need a trickle charge, otherwise (one assumes) they would be harder to revive than standard lead acid batteries, but...I have no experience with LiFePO batteries (especy on this scale) and limited experience with LiPo batteries.

Thanks Frediii for the tip, but I get a discount all year round for mine thanks to the Ring forum, so I get it for 500€ delivered with a support milled in aluminium :)

Next month.

Evening work, good evening!

In order to get the RS, which with its Extreme blue and white stripes doesn't go unnoticed already, get even more "in your face", because after all, that's how I drive it :D, i've just spent 3h putting on my new stickers, alone, by -3°C!

The "twingo R2" stickers will not be on the car, but I'll replace the "R2" by "CUP" and I'll put them on the interior door panels.

The stickers are grey, and they fit pretty well with the grey accessories on the car, and also I didn't want them to be white because I already have some white stickers and I'll soon have some others, so grey is like, less important, second layer of stickers.

I bought the stickers on the Street-race website, 75£ or so, got them in a week.

Decbolton, you just need a friend to hold a bit the main sticker when putting some tape to hold it into position, then it's very easy to install :)

Thanks guys :)

Next week I get custom stickers made by a friend at work, including race number, brand stickers, some stupid and funny ones for the rear window, and a sun strip saying "move right" written in reverse so you read it in your mirrors (going to be pretty useful on german autobahns and at the Nurburgring!).

i fancy flying out to germany and taking a few laps with you! :')

You're welcome mate :)

But ideally, take your car with you, we'll get the stickers on, and you'll enjoy a few laps of your own!

I'm glad you guys like it :)
Can't wait for next week with the complete set of racing stickers.
