3rd lap on Saturday, with the gearbox linkage going off at Adenauer Forst, so I fix it on the side of the track and go again :D

I just had a spirited drive in my mothers 225 F1 shopping trolley when it occured to me, that I read somthing about a clio 200 engine in this thread recently. when/why did you scrap the F4RT plans? it's such a stunning engine in the megane. it must be even more stunning in the twingo...

I just don´t get along with turbos, unless they are in a 800hp Audi Quattro :D

I just prefer NA engines, it´s more my style of driving.

how come the gearbox linkage went off? Is it a weak design 'fault' by Renault or just happened because of excessive wear by driving 200 laps on the Nürburgring?

I would say it´s a bit of both ... The linkage is connected by clipping onto a kind of "ball" end on the gearbox system, and the linkage is made of injected plastic with a rubber joint to basically prevent it from moving too much. But that´s ok for normal use... On the Ring, you jump, go over high curbs (some as high as 20cm!) and there´s the Karussel !! So all that means that my linkage fixation has worn out a bit faster than usual. But i´ve got a solution, just need to find time to do it (probably when I´ll fit the exhaust manifold). I´ll simply drill a hole in the linkage, get a cable tightened around it, and tighten the other end of this cable around the bottom of the ball on the gearbox. Like this, it won´t go off anymore while still allowing for some freedom of movement.

I want to go back to the ring after you placed the manifold.. want to 'hear' the difference :p + I want to test my own car after having the coilovers and the insulating wrap/cold airfeed kit placed.

& Drag Ghostz aloung with me

I need to get there soon...only driven 7 laps in 3 different cars but have played it on forza to the point i know every turn whereas when i drove it it was guess work as to what was left or right etc even though hocheichen went right and then carried on! Found out mid corner it went left!

If i ever get a chance this year (naff all i will have to get Mr Yotah to show me round :D

Naughty Mr Yotah just watched your Clio vid and it looks more like you saw the clio brake early and you tried going on the inside to overtake lol

I don't create a thread for it yet but i spent my morning checking out all the details on my next car, for a second look, to make sure everything is fine, well maintained, etc etc.

I'll do the thread, and transfer this, when i get the keys at the end of the month.
So, it's a Porsche 911 997 GT3, ex factory car, currently 90000km on the odometer, fitted with everything to make it the perfect track car : full coubsport package with both driver and passenger harnesses, carbon with leather/alcantara seats, chrono package, sport package, sat nav, carbon ceramic brakes, tough converted to steel discs recently, the PCCB discs will be sold shortly after the purchase of the car.
3600cc engine giving out 415 hp to the rear wheels, Arctic Grey paint, GT3 Cup front splitter, cooling ducts for both front and rear brakes, etc etc.
Should be home by the end of July :)

It represents a massive financial investment for me but thankfully, a GT3 like this with these options don't come across for sale very often and doesn't lose much value over time, before it actually becomes a collector.
It's basically my dream car, finally i get the opportunity to own it :)

I can't say i'm not impatient about it ahahah!

Living the dream right there!

But what is the plan? Tracking the Porsche, or have it as a daily driver with occasional tracktime (as it's too good not to track) Or drive the Twingo as a daily / get rid of the Twingo?

Porsche will be daily/some track and the Twingo needs servicing on the coilovers becore i track it again. But the Twingo should remain the main track vehicle.
