Thanks guys :)
I'm looking forward to finally get my hands on it, been hovering around this car for months now, getting the money paperwork and all the administrative things in order, it takes so much time!!

nice. a friend of mine also converted to steel brakes on his 996 gt3. they are just ridiculously expensive... sell yours for a few set of pilot sport cups :)

-edit- forgot to mention: this is one of the very rare occasions where I'm not jealous looking at other people's fancy cars that I cannot afford - simply because I think it's in the right hands. enjoy!

Is there two bolts/studs missing from the plate above the spring? It looks to have two holes with nothing fitted :?

I'm not realy a Porsche fan, but the GT3 is rather special

I'm currently checking that with the mechanic, Singlespeed, as I saw the same thing, but as the bolts are screwed from the top, maybe it's only missing some caps. Anyway, it's the kind of thing which will drop the price a bit, especially as currently, just before the holidays, and especially on that kind of price range, nobody is buying anything...

I had a chat with a regular racer at the Ring when i saw he was driving on the same Hankook Ventus S1 Evo, asked him what he thought about it. He used to drive on Michelin PSS on his GT3 RS, and with the Hankooks, he´s only 1sec slower per lap, says the grip is very close to the PSS, except in the wet where the PSS are a bit better.

Anyway later I will switch from time to time to PS Cup in order to be on semi slicks for the summer :)

Do you any plans for the GT3? Or are you going to leave it stock? (feel kinda bad for calling a GT3 'stock' but you know what I mean ;) )

Well, it´s pretty much track oriented enough already :)
I want to get an Akrapovic exhaust, but that´s about it. Funny to say "that´s about it", when i realise that it costs about as much as what I paid for my RS!!!

I got an answer for the "missing screws", it is simply that they are holes available if you want to rotate the top plate in order to add extra camber.

I remember that Porsche GT3 movie on youtube you showed me with the Akrapovic exhaust ;)

So Akrapovic and re-map?

Sounds enough for a car like that

Pretty much. The remap is necessary to get the best out of the exhaust, so it will have to be done at the same time.

Because the car will be registered in Luxembourg, and needs TüV approval on every modification I could do on it, therefore i can only buy TüV certified parts or upgrades. And quite frankly, Damien from Inoxline does an amazing job, but for such a car, I want a titanium exhaust, and he doesn't make these, and it needs proper air flow development, vibration reduction, weight saving, etc etc.

Back yesterday from a nice Sunday at the Ring. 9 laps with the Twingo before i ran out of pads, and when I say ran out, I mean ran out (see photo below...)

I drove a Clio from a friend, nice 200 Cup with cage, harnesses and buckets, Ktec catback exhaust... very cool car to drive, too bad there were many crashes during the lap, I´d love to see what laptime I can get out of it! I´ll have to rent one I guess!!

So here are some pictures :

And the look of the pads ...

What remains of the R888

And this week I order the Twingo R2 Evo brake caliper supports, and start searching for some Clio 3 RS calipers to fit on the car. I just need the guys from Renault Sport to confirm if it fits under the 15" rims or if I have to switch to my 16" rims.
I´ll get the dimensions of the discs in order to buy the same size in the PFC catalog to get some nice floating discs on aluminium centers, plus a pair of braided brake lines. And this is the final modification to the car, because it is just a pain in the ... to change the pads on those awful mono-piston front calipers on the Twingo!

Plus, the pads and discs for the Clio setup actually cost less than the ones for the Twingo

The R2 Evo parts are now added into the online catalog
https://ecatalog.renaultsport.com/rallye/TwingoR2/rst/RSentree.htm
Page 31.45 shows the Evo setup and disc as - Disque AVG(AVD) AP Ø300X27
7711167476 and 7711167475
If they fit under 15" wheels, it must be realy close :?

Considering you say awfull monopiston. They have served you well and the pad wear looks fairly even (a slight taper showing on the leftover pad)... If it wasn't for your ring habit and needing new pads each week, would you be changing?

The clio 3 rs won't fit on 15's my mates put them on his ph1 clio and I've been thinking about putting them on the dini :p
