A bit of fun a couple nights ago :

Time attack Twingo....... That is an idea!! Imagine that aero + F4RT........ Jeebus!! Awesome build dude!!

Robwescott : i've almost never been on the 17" wheels, they stayed on the car only for 3 months. The COntis were good, but I never pushed them very hard so I can't really say...
For road tires, the Bridgestone are really good. For track, R888 were better (longer lifespan) than the Maxsport (which were also very hard to balance).

I've got a few news regarding the car.

Althought I'm buying a motorbike to go to work and also have fun on the weekends, the RS will soon get some work done.

- First, I have the distribution belt to change, with all the parts coming with it, as the car is getting close to 100 000 km, including 6000 very demanding km on the Nordschleife! At the same time, it will be the opportunity to install CatCams camshafts. The ECU map will be redone to get the most out of the new setup with the cams and the decat exhaust for which I've never taken the time to update the ECU mapping. I'm still looking if I get a Clio V6 airbox like they used to fit them on the Twingo R2, or if I can find a Clio R3 / Twingo R2 Evo airbox, but they're damn expensive! Or maybe I'll just buy the filter and build my airbox around it...

- The battery is getting exhausted, so it will be switched for a lightweight Odyssey PC680 battery setup in the trunk probably.

- New fluids all around, new Carbone Lorraine brake pads too.

- Custom made from CNC Aluminium side mounts for the seats, so i can adjust my driving position a bit better.

- new washer unit as mine is shot...

- new suspensions, as the ASTs are getting worn out and need to be replaced. So far, I'm leaning towards the BC Racing coilovers, combined with my already fitted AST top mounts, but my garage is looking if they can get KW to build a kit and for how much.

- new camber setup at -1°30 in the back and -2° in the front

- new track tires, I'm going to test the Avon ZZR semi slicks in 16". They are about the same price as the R888 and apparently offer immense grip on the dry. On the other hand, they can become a handful when the road is wet...

- I will remove my rear strut brace, I don't find it very useful, and might get a custom one built to attach directly onto the chassis upper fixations points of the rear bench seats.

- the rear wiper assembly will be removed from the car, and all the windows except the windshield will be replaced by 3mm polycarbonate windows to save weight.

All this should help me save another 15kg from the car roughly and add about 20-25 horses to the 1.6

First track days will be in May or June approximately.

I can maybe help you with that i have been in contact with KW Belgium and they told me they where still looking for a "test car" or where able to get a Twingo RS somewhere end January to make a new suspension kit for the RS

they also said to me if you give your car to us for about 2 weeks they will develop and test out a new KW kit built for the RS but you will lose the car for 2 weeks they said i would gladly love to give them my car but i cannot lose the car for 2 weeks in Germany , cause i need it to go to work daily :(

also plus side they did told me if you give your car away to let them develop it you get the new KW kit around half price ;)

so send an email to KW they can maybe sort of help you :p (also it will help other ppl also :D)

I also received news from Bilstein HQ that they will start developing a new kit for the Twingo RS in April and it should/could be available sometime in October 2014. Good times!

I'm also looking for R2 evo air box
maybe if there is some people interested we can share the price to ask carbon specialist to construct somes (the box at renault cost 900€ -_-.... )

October 2014 is too late for me. My garage is in direct contact with KW Competition department in Germany so he'll enquire for the RS kit. My problem is currently the same as yours : i can't give the car away for a lot of time as it's still currently my daily driver.

As soon as the Ducati is at home, the RS will be able to go anywhere but to be honest, given KW's quality but also given their price range, I'm pretty set on getting the BC shocks, especially as it's mostly for one year of use and then off the car as I'll get the Clio 3 RS suspension and lower arms installed on the car for the new engine.

Also thinking about a dedicated set of track wheels, maybe OZ Leggenda in 16", or another set of OZ Ultraleggera in 16" as I already have, or Speedline 2110 CHallenge or COmpomotive MO5 (both 5 spokes very simple and clean designs).

Maz, there's no way I'll spend that much cash into a carbon airbox, especially as to be honest, the carbon doesn't really bring much to the airbox itself. A well done fiberglass one is definitely enough for the 1.6, we're not building Formula 1 cars after all...

17" Mo5 on my Twingo the wheels are really good wheels as well as looking nice. I know because I hit a 6" deep pothole at a good 60mph and the tyre burst immediately but the wheels didn't crack or anything so they're really good quality

I've found a set of these in 16" but the fitment won't be ok as it has an ET16, which is wayyyyy too much :(
Bugger as they were at 300€ with slicks on them...

I say carbon but even me fiber glass is enouth
I just looking a way to have one cheaper

but wee need to found the original fox to ask for copy

MovingShadow, I must check but I'm pretty sure I saw some Leggendas in 16".

Maz, I can model the airbox pretty easily to custom build it for our engine bay, using an existing Green Filter (which is pretty much how they did the Cup airbox anyway). I've contacted MC Racing for a price quote for a FRP or a CF box using the original design or a custom one. The more customers are interested the cheaper the price obviously.

I would also be interested in the filter :) I believe the OZ Leggenda only come in 17"+, but you can have Sparco Terra for less money and almost the same shape ;)

that is still a long way to go T_T but still better late then never :D , finally i can get a decent Belgian MOT ready worthy coilover set if KW keeps there word to make it around October 2014 , i also was looking for the BC-peformance coilovers but problem is for me i have to mount and dismount them every year else i would fail belgian MOT cause there are not enough documents to make it legal here >_>

Same here.

I wrote an E-mail to Bilstein at 16.01.2014 and they answered that Coilovers will be released at Summer 2014.

Sehr geehrter Herr Hamann,

Same story for me.. But I just wished that the Weitec's would come with GOCA papers because I need to dismount mine for Belgian MOT.

Funny thing is : I've got the french MOT to pass in 2 months...

May I start listing the things not stock on my car or shouldn't I even bother??? :p

I realised I never posted the latest photos of my car :

And since mid last year, the interior is fully white :
